The parking lot was very large and almost full when we arrived. The clubhouse was large and well stocked. We arrived early and they were out of carts and had to wait until about 5 minutes before our round to get a cart. The course has 3 separate 9 hole courses, Lakeview, Westwoods, and Bridges. The first hole of Lakeview was uphill sweeping to the left around a blind corner then back down to the green. The hole ends with a ring of a bell. Pace of play was somewhat disappointing, considering the marshall was always present... physically at least. We talked to several members while we waited and they were all very nice people and said normally the rate of play was very smooth. Questionable, but okay.
Hole #7 of Westwoods is the signature and was a beautiful Par 3 with a peninsula green and a beautiful bridge. Most of the holes were pretty straight forward and it was basically a back and forth action with heavy trees on both sides. Keep it straight you're good to go. If you have a hard time finding the fairway make sure you bring plenty of balls. Westwoods also did not have a single bathroom.
The next set called Bridges was nicely spread out and featured a huge pond/swamp that had a nice bridge spanning it. The featured hole was a Par 3 that edged the pond. The 2nd hole was a beautiful hole with a forgiving fairway and nice distance to the leg to set up your second shot. The final set called Lakeview was the newest addition and offered more open fairways. Hole 4 offered nice length and a rolling uphill fairway to a nice rock pile that potentially provides a nice bounce (wink wink).
Overall this is a very nice course with many options for play. The course is not the most hacker friendly one out there but provides a good challenge to someone who is improving their golf game. I would recommend Waushara Country Club to anyone that enjoys a long day on the links.
