The excellent practice facilities get you primed for a remarkable round, played on well-manicured fairways, lined by tall prairie grasses cascading up and down a multitude of dramatic hillsides. So remarkable is this course it was recognized as one of the ten best new golf courses in America in 2006. Yes, it's that new. Yes, it's that incredible. So how does the public get to play this course? And for such a reasonable cost? Well, consider it yet another gift to golfers from the current economy. Take advantage of it if (and while) you still can. No doubt, regardless of your score, you'll enjoy holes 2, 7 and the Signature 9th on the front, as well as the 10th, 14th and incredible finishing trio.
From the rivers, streams and ponds scattered everywhere, to the twin semi-island greens, and the mile-long cascading waterfall descending from the clubhouse perched atop the "mountain"... it's hard to adequately describe the beauty and serenity of the experience. What you see on their website is what you see on the course. It's that breathtaking... and we felt that lucky to be there. The service was top notch, the food sufficient... the value great! Hopefully it will remain that way. This is truly a paradise for golfers of every level.
So, drop your kids and significant other off at Madison's great (Free) Henry Vilas Zoo and make like a mid-1800's pioneer... Blaze a trail to Oregon.
