"The golf course is playable and fun for every level player. I think that's the best thing you could say about it," said the club's pro. "It's challenging for a scratch player, but it's playable if you're higher-handicap player or beginner. It's friendly to all levels and we try to give everybody the best customer service and best experience possible."
And while Quit Qui Oc may not be a Top 50 course in Wisconsin, it certainly does its best to live up their mission statement. The staff was courteous and helpful, food options were plentiful and affordable and the beverage cart service was prompt and friendly.
As for the course, the layout was challenging with plentiful bunkers - bring your sunscreen because you'll probably wind up on the beach a lot - and difficult greens (some a little too difficult) which demand precision approach shots.
One of the course's signature holes, and perhaps its most difficult, is the Par 4 15th. Players face a blind tee shot that you must keep slightly left of the big trees you can see from the tee. Your approach leads into an elevated green, and no matter where the pin is, you want to be short of it because anything coming downhill - putt, chip, underhand toss - is going to roll all the way off the front unless you hit the hole. There are a number of tricky greens like this, but if you can navigate those without pulling your hair out you should be in decent shape to put up a good number.
If 18 holes isn't enough, Quit Qui Oc also features the Glacial 9, a popular layout separate from the main course. You can even play the Glacial course as part of your 18-hole round by request.
Looking for something to do after your round? You can go swimming at the beach in Elkhart Lake or take a hike in the Kettle Moraine - the scenery in the area is gorgeous.
Overall Quit Qui Oc is a solid value in a nature-lover's paradise... definitely worth your time.
