The "Red, White, and Blues" do not present a challenging course. This popular public course shows a lot of use, a lot of wear. People flock to this course and are undeterred by any and all weather conditions. Hole #2 gives the aura of tournament as the guests cheer you on from their adjacent resort balconies. It definitely presents a thrill, and more nerves, a different experience from many other courses.
The first hole reveals the fact that all the tee sets share the same tee box but you can disregard that to some extent as you launch over a beautiful water fountain. Hole #8 on the Blue course is an entertaining hole. It is a dogleg left with trees on the left side and a creek on the right side. Try and play it in three shorter, more manageable long iron/hybrid strokes, down the center, as it is a par 5. Turning the corner you'll have an open approach shot to a large green, which favorably sets up at least a par... If you follow these directions perhaps even a birdie.
A hacker would enjoy the lack of hazards on this course. It really is extremely forgiving. If you do happen to slice the ball, the trees are spread out with wide-open gaps for many options of play. The majority of these 27 holes are mostly flat and straight, and shooting one of your lower rounds is not only possible but probable. It is definitely not very stressful to play. Ducks and geese roam the fairways, disregarding the white ball rockets scattered by humans here and there, and they patrol the ponds, honking in mockery as wayward shots join them there.
Riding in a cart could almost be considered a hazard on this course. You are much better off walking. The fairways and roughs are so very bumpy and hard which creates standing water if it ever rains. The lack of a beverage cart is not really a problem if you just want water, but food and soda are only available after each 9 or can be ordered from the 9th tee box. The course conditions on the fairways and the roughs leave much to be desired, but the low cost of a round outweighs those negatives.
