The course is located right off the freeway. On your drive in you'll gain beautiful views of a pond, driving/chipping range, and clubhouse. They have a banquet hall, pro shop/clubhouse, and locker rooms on site.
This course can be challenging your first time, but the starters and rangers are eager to provide tips, and they are most useful if you heed them. Water does come into play on 11 holes (18 if you're terrible) however it's not overwhelming. The natural grasses on almost every hole make for adventurous ball hunting after a bad hook or slice, but you should be able to find most errant shots.
The greens were consistent and fast throughout all 18 holes. We suspect the cup sizes are about a half inch small on one side as we missed almost every putt by that half inch... The rangers disagreed with our conspiracy theory, but we'll take a tape measure next time. Many contours and ridges on the greens make ball placement an important consideration. The greens had some worn and brown sections but they were working on fixing them.
The speed of play was almost perfect, there was no waiting and no one hitting up on you. Considering they were booked solid this was very impressive. The ranger made his way around twice on each 9 and the beverage cart 3 times per 9. There is only one "formal" bathroom break per 9. The course does a very nice job with the signage for each hole; there is a picture of the hole, yardage, and par. Finding your way around this course is a breeze as there are full cart paths throughout and above average signage.
If you're looking for a course that is fun, challenging, relaxing, and peaceful this is a wonderful course for you. The price tag may keep a newer golfer from playing here but they do offer tiered rates based upon the time of day, so with some planning you can save some money and enjoy a great day on the links.
