That being said it is still challenging and fun. There is trouble everywhere, from an island green to greens surrounded by marsh. The second, a signature hole, is very deceiving. The green is surrounded by water and even though there is some rough around the green it is very steep and generally will not keep the ball from getting wet. It might not be a bad idea to bring a few "junk" balls with you.
With only two leagues currently in place it is easy to get favorable tee times and with so many par threes you can play all eighteen holes in well under three hours, Eagle Links is a great opportunity to sneak in a round any time, any day. Note: If you take a cart by yourself you only pay for half the cart. That's a super sweet deal dude. Not sure there are many other courses in the area that you can spend less than $20 (cart included) to get in 18; especially on the weekend.
Ned, the owner, is very friendly and has been working very hard to make Eagle Links a destination people visit, as he knows they'll come back. He admits that once you lose leagues it can be very hard to get them back, but it opens the sheet for everyone else which should be reason enough for every golfer in the area to stop by and give them a shot.
All in all, Eagle Links is a nice, fun little course with a great opportunity to work on your short game. The driver only comes into play once maybe twice if you're a big hitter but the greens have many levels and a great deal of charm. Just do not go there for a fancy meal or dinner date. No grill, just a few fried foods and hot dogs to tame that hunger. But then you should be here for the golf and not a t-bone anyway. That's an entirely different review genre.
