Have you ever seen three states while teeing off on the tenth tee-box? From number ten you can literally see Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa, and Eagle Point Park, which sits along the Mississippi River. This course is extremely scenic with hundred year old trees and Dubuque bluffs. People say this course "is one of the most beautiful places to play golf," and rarely will you find such a place in the city. Golf Digest rated this course one of the top places to play in Dubuque. The rolling hills and bluffs of Dubuque give this course a ton of character.

Signature hole number 5 on the front nine is a straight away par 5 with heavy timber on both sides of the fairway. Typically with two nice wood shots you'll get close to the green but most golfers might be a little intimated by the large trees right off the tee box. Golfers on this course will spend time in the trees but that's what adds to the experience.

The back nine has a signature hole that definitely makes you feel like you're in Dubuque with the rock ledges along the left side of the fairway to the green. Number 11's uniqueness is placing your tee-shot in the right place. The rough on both sides of the fairway are side hills which means an accurate tee-shot down a narrow fairway is ideal. But what's most unique is the narrow green lying next to ledges of rocks.

The staff on this course is one of the best in the state. From the grounds crew to the service in the clubhouse, everyone is willing to stop and chat for a few minutes and tell you about their course. They are really proud of how they continue to maintain such a beautiful course and will offer up any advice to improve your score. A practice facility and more paved cart paths are a few things this course is missing but working with a city budget the crew is doing an outstanding job.

Pricing is very comparable to other 18-hole public courses but what's priceless is shooting a great score here. There are many holes that give you an opportunity to get birdies, if not eagles. Hit-em straight and be ready to tell someone how well you shot at Bunker Hill!

This is a fun course to play. Beware of the hills. I know some elderly people who like to walk this hilly course, but I would much rather ride the cart. Some of the fairways are slanted enough that, even though you place your drive on the high side, it may end up in the bottoms. It is challenging to hit the greens from the lower areas of the fairways. Overall, good course, good condition, relatively easy to get on. You may see some wildlife, as well. There are quite a few deer in the area.

This is an above average course that once hosted a Senior PGA tournament. It is usually in very good condition and is known for having nice greens that are especially undulating.

For the average golfer this can be challenging yet very fair. It is a great place to improve and challenge yourself and a step up in quality and difficulty from some of the other public courses around the metro.

Though not in the league of the top tier courses anymore it continues to be one of the busier and more popular places to play in the north metro.
