Though only a Par-62 (tell yourself it's a Par 72 and you'll be thrilled at the conclusion of your round!) the course still plays better on paper than in reality due to some narrow fairways, some bordered by out-of-bounds or water as well as a few well-placed greenside bunkers. There are no course deemed "signature" holes, but give note to holes eight and fifteen.
#8 is a 90 degree, Par-4 dogleg requiring a longer shot than one might expect to cut and carry the leg. A straight shot down the fairway with a long iron may be the prudent choice.
#15 is a curving tight Par-4 dogleg with out-of-bounds squeezing you both from the left (a very busy highway with some really angry drivers) and the right (a tree-lined creek that obscures most views of the green).
The rest of the course is comprised of relatively short Par-4 holes and short Par-3 holes (10 out of 18 holes are Par-3). Tee boxes need quite a bit of work with divots and no sand to fill them and plenty of scattered broken tees. The fairways though are well manicured, and the greens were very consistent. This course would be ideal for the family from grandparent to grandchild. There is little elevation change so it is easily walked for those that prefer a truer experience when golfing.
Value here is also a key factor; as all rates (cart and golf) are of considerable value. The full-service bar with grill offers below average costs on beverages with good variety and decent fare. There is also beverage/snack cart service on weekday evenings and weekends all day. There is no range, but they offer both putting and chipping areas. The course may be average at best, but the hospitality from grill to grounds crew was superb.
