There are a number of blind shots and it is recommended to take a drive up the fairway to get a good look before teeing off. For example, there is a beautiful running stream on #4, a par 5, which forces a layup shot with a shorter iron instead of using a 3 wood to get across. Doglegs are common and some are rather sharp but can be cut with the right type of shot. The signature hole of the golf course is #8. You will never forget it.
The course is well signed and has good distance markers so you know the yardages for every shot. BCC is a picturesque course with greens that are extremely well groomed and "lightning fast" like a country club should be. The sand traps, both fairway and around the greens, are meticulously groomed with plenty of sand to lift out a shot. The tee boxes are impeccable - you can almost putt on them.
Some of the holes are "Indian Mounds" and these are well marked so as to not be disturbed. Trees are abundant and carefully surrounded by red mulch. Flowers, too, are carefully placed around the golf course to add that extra touch to this already gorgeous layout.
The clubhouse has the traditional look of a country club with a well stocked pro shop, full bar and restaurant and customer service that is outstanding. Try the bratwurst and your favorite beverage before, during or after the round.
There is a putting green right next to the clubhouse where players can warm up and get used to the fast greens they are about to play. Because of the layout, there isn't room for a driving range so come prepared to tee off after checking in. The course will be a definite challenge but you will be impressed by what it offers. This is definitely a track to revisit; you will not be disappointed.
BCC is a must play golf course. As BCC's literature indicates: "It remains one of the best kept secrets in the area." Check it out!!
