Badger Creek is relatively new but it does have its share of character and charm. Hole 14, the signature hole, is a 90 yard par three. You might think that would make this an easy hole but none of our foursome hit the green off the box. The green is very thin, not really long and slightly elevated. Simply put hit it 90 yards plus or minus 5 yards and your fine. If not, making par can be a challenge.
The clubhouse is nice. They were just finishing a new patio area that looked great (anytime you incorporate a tiki bar you have a good start). The pro shop is very small, with just a few clothing items, balls, tees and the miscellaneous knickknacks. No clubs ,but that's ok since most people show up to a golf course with them anyway. The food was good. We'd go so far as to rate their chili a 10 out of 10. Although my "steak" sandwich was a glorified hamburger it was good as were the other items we tried.
The course was in great shape; a little wet after a major downpour but like most courses after such a storm, any would have some standing water. The grass length of the fairways, greens and rough were all very good. Simply put, everything a hacker expects in regard to maintenance was accomplished here.
Badger Creek is a great destination for hackers to find an inexpensive good time with new carts and layout that suits people that don't necessarily hit the fairway on every drive.
